Following the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League group phase, Real Madrid are now 24th in the standings.

The Los Blancos have gotten only six points from five Champions League matches.

Carlo Ancelotti has however expressed confidence in his team’s ability to advance to the next round.

Ancelotti said: “We will qualify to the next round, and we will compete as every year. You will see.

“I liked the team because we competed well.”

Ancelotti also dismissed the idea that the defeat to Liverpool would have a significant impact.

He went on: “It doesn’t change much because even if we won… it was difficult to be in the top 8.”

Ancelotti also showed his support for Kylian Mbappe, who missed a penalty during the game.

“Mbappe has all of our support, and he will soon turn the situation around,” said Ancelotti.

“He’s an extraordinary player. We must be patient. He’s doing well and adapting well. We are with him.”
