Kylian Mbappe has scored nine goals across all competitions for Real Madrid this season, but is still under fire, as so much is expected of a player of his calibre.

Mbappe missed a penalty in midweek against Liverpool, as Real Madrid lost that Champions League clash.

The Frenchman has been criticised for his Liverpool display, but Carlo Ancelotti has come to his defence.

The gaffer stated: “Mbappe is new here, he’s still adapting. He’s already got 8 goals. Can he play better? Yes, but all of us can.

“Mbappe penalty miss? A lot of my players have missed penalties. Mbappé knows he has to do better. Many of my players have missed penalties and we have to continue to support and help.

“We have to think that this is a collective problem and not an individual problem. My most serious demeanor this season? I’m like Mbappe.

“I’m trying to bring this club back to its best. We haven’t been at the level we expect and we want to change that. I’m a bit worried but I’m happy.”
