It’s been a turbulent season so far by Real Madrid’s standards.

The Los Blancos were beaten in mid-week by Athletic Club, as Real suffered a 2-1 defeat away from home.

Carlo Ancelotti has said his side didn’t deserve to lose that game, and played well enough to get at least a draw.

Ancelotti also insists his team must focus on the upcoming clash with Girona.

“We competed well. We deserved to draw,” Carlo Ancelotti said.

“Our second half was better than the first. We could’ve got a better result, yes, but now we continue to fight and the focus is on Saturday [v Girona].”
