After the Intercontinental Cup victory in Qatar, Real Madrid returned to the La Liga to whip Sevilla 4-2.

It was a significant victory for the Los Blancos, as Real went ahead of Barcelona in the league standings, despite having played a game less.

It was the final game of the year for Real, as we enter the Christmas break.

For Carlo Ancelotti, there was no better way to end the year.

He said: “We played a good match with plenty of chances. A great way to end the year. This is exactly what we wanted – to stay in the title race and have a good rest heading into 2025.

“The attackers are showing better performances. Today we missed an important player like Vinicius, but they managed very well. We also transitioned better from defense, which gave us more opportunities.

“Set pieces were well executed, and Kylian [Mbappe], who has a great shot, scored a fantastic goal, similar to the one against Celta.”
