Vinicius Junior was voted Men’s Best Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards, capping off a remarkable 2024 for the Real Madrid star.

Vinicius Jr also won the FIFA The Best Men’s Player of the Year. However, the Brazilian star missed out on the Ballon d’Or award.

Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai, former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo claimed Vinicius Jr deserved the Ballon d’Or award.

He stated: “Vini did a fantastic job and in my opinion, he deserved to win the Ballon D’Or, it was unfair in my opinion, I’m saying it in front of everybody.

“They gave it to Rodri, he deserved too, but I think they should’ve given it to Vini because he won the UCL and scored in the UCL final. When you deserve, you should give it to who deserves.

“This gala always does the same thing, this is why I love Globe Soccer, continue to do this gala because it’s an honest award and it’s very good.”

Taking the stage after his idol, Vinicius Jr didn’t hold back, saying, “If Cristiano says I am the best, then I am the best.”
