David Alaba is edging closer to making his much-anticipated return to action for Real Madrid.

Ahead of the Super Cup clash against Mallorca, manager Carlo Ancelotti shared an encouraging update on the Austrian defender’s progress, saying: “He’s very good. We’re close to seeing him.”

Alaba has been included in the squad for the Mallorca game after successfully completing training sessions with his teammates.

The centre-back has endured a lengthy spell on the sidelines, having not played professional football since December 2023.
