Mallorca captain Antonio Raillo has shared his insights ahead of their highly anticipated Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Real Madrid.
Reflecting on their earlier 1-1 draw in La Liga, Raillo emphasised the importance of replicating that performance while acknowledging the challenge posed by Los Blancos’ formidable squad.
“The tone of the first leg match is the mirror in which we have to look at ourselves,” Raillo told Mundo Deportivo.
He underlined the necessity of staying united as a team, focusing on defensive solidity, and improving their attacking edge to stand a chance against the European giants.
One of the key talking points surrounding the fixture is the absence of Real Madrid’s star winger, Vinícius Jr., who is suspended for the game.
Raillo spoke about the Brazilian’s influence on the pitch, stating, “The focus is a little more on him because he is a very decisive player. He always faces up, tries to dribble and get past the opponent.”
However, Raillo insisted that the suspension of Vinícius Jr. would not affect Mallorca’s preparations. “Vinicius’ suspension doesn’t depend on us. The manager prepared the game as if Vinicius were playing,” he explained.
As Mallorca gear up for the challenge, Raillo’s comments reflect a cautious but determined approach to facing Real Madrid, a team that thrives in high-stakes tournaments like the Super Cup.
