Real Madrid and Barcelona will play the first El Clasico of the year in the Super Cup final, with the heated clash to be played in Saudi Arabia.

Barcelona won the last El Clasico, beating Real Madrid 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti has said Real Madrid will try to win the game, but the season will go on if it doesn’t happen.

“We are prepared for criticism after the match because the result is not predictable. What we can control is the performance in the match and I’m convinced that tomorrow we will do not only well, but very well,” he said.

Ancelotti acknowledged the challenge posed by their arch rivals as he said: “Barcelona is a historic rival and the games we play against them are very difficult and competitive, that’s obvious. For us and for them. The result of the game cannot be predicted and we try to do our best,” Ancelotti added.

Ancelotti went on: “If we lose tomorrow, the season continues. It’s a final and we’re very close to another title and we’re thinking positively, but I’m aware that in football anything can happen, especially if the rival is as strong as Barcelona.”
