Kylian Mbappe delivered a scintillating performance, scoring twice to lead Real Madrid to an impressive 4-1 comeback victory over Las Palmas on Sunday.

The win propelled Los Blancos to the top of the LaLiga standings, overtaking city rivals Atletico Madrid, who suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Leganes on Saturday. Real now sit on 46 points, two ahead of Atletico, with Barcelona trailing by seven points after their 1-1 draw with Getafe.

For Mbappe, it was an important victory for Real Madrid, as title rivals Atletico Madrid and Barcelona dropped points.

“It was an important win for us because we took advantage of what happened to Atletico and Barcelona on Saturday, we wanted to win and we won,” Mbappe told DAZN.

With Real Madrid now back at the summit of La Liga, Mbappe is confident that the team can maintain their momentum.

“We played offensively, we looked for spaces, we scored a lot of goals, and I think all Real Madrid fans enjoyed the game because we are leaders,” he said.
