Despite their dominant performance, Los Blancos must now navigate a playoff to secure their place in the knockout rounds. Their potential opponents in this crucial two-legged tie are either Celtic or Manchester City.

Rodrygo scored twice against Brest to help Real Madrid win the game 3-0 but it wasn’t enough to see Madrid finish among the top 8.

Speaking on Madrid possibly facing Man City or Celtic, Rodrygo said:

“We were talking about it, but I tried to focus on the game and scoring goals. Whatever it is, it will be difficult for us no matter what.

“Against City it is always difficult, but whatever it is. Things are always complicated and difficult in this competition.”
