Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger went off injured in the first-half against Espanyol.
Rudiger pulled up his hamstring in the first half, and was immediately subbed off for Raul Asencio.
Rudiger has been an ever-present figure at the back for Real Madrid.
“Antonio Rudiger has suffered a muscular injury,” Carlo Ancelotti told the media after the loss to Espanyol.
Ancelotti was asked if Rudiger’s injury came because the club didn’t sign a defender and couldn’t rotate the team.
Ancelotti replied, “I can’t answer you in that sense.”
Ancelotti will turn to the returning David Alaba, Asencio and midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni for his option in defence in Rudiger’s absence.
