La Liga president Javier Tebas has once again taken aim at Real Madrid, following the club’s vocal protests against what they perceive as poor officiating in La Liga.
In his latest interview, Tebas didn’t hold back, making several controversial statements about the club’s stance.
Addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding refereeing decisions, Tebas commented on the Barcelona-referees scandal, saying:
“It has been proven that Negreira could influence the rise and fall of referees, but there was no evidence of any push on any referee.”
Despite this, Tebas shifted his focus to Real Madrid, criticising the club for how they’ve handled their grievances.
“Real Madrid are playing the victim in an exaggerated and inappropriate way. They seemed to have lost their minds,” he added.
Tebas also confirmed that his relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez remains strained.
“Florentino Pérez? I don’t have to talk to him. The last time he said to me, ‘you don’t listen to me,’ but the truth is that I listen to him, I just don’t pay attention to him,” Tebas remarked.
This latest outburst from Tebas is unlikely to sit well with the club or its supporters, further fueling the already tense relationship between Real Madrid and La Liga’s governing body.
