Carlo Ancelotti has urged his Real Madrid squad to remain focused despite their victory over Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League tie.

The Italian tactician insists that the result could be deceptive, emphasising that there is still work to be done in the return fixture.

Speaking after the game, Ancelotti warned against complacency, knowing that City have the quality to overturn the deficit.

He said: “The result could be misleading as we don’t have to come from behind in the return.”

He stressed the importance of maintaining the same mentality and intensity in the second leg, ensuring that Real Madrid do not let their guard down.

Ancelotti added: “But we have to approach the second leg in exactly the same way as we did today, with the same commitment and quality.”
