Carlo Ancelotti has made a bold statement about Jude Bellingham’s leadership qualities, hinting that the English midfielder could one day wear the captain’s armband at Real Madrid.

“[Jude] Bellingham has the personality. He has only been at this club [Real Madrid] for a short time. He has the character to be a captain in the future. He’s going to be an integral part of the squad for years to come,” Ancelotti told the media.

Bellingham, 21, has quickly established himself as one of Real Madrid’s most influential players since joining from Borussia Dortmund for €113 million in the summer of 2023.

His impact on the pitch has been nothing short of phenomenal, as he has already racked up 56 goal contributions in just 75 appearances for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid’s current captaincy group consists of Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vázquez, and Federico Valverde. With Modric, Carvajal, and Vázquez in the latter stages of their careers, Bellingham could soon find himself in the leadership core at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The England international, who is contracted with the club until 2029, has not only impressed with his technical ability and goal-scoring prowess but also with his maturity and mentality on and off the field. Ancelotti’s comments reinforce the belief that Bellingham is destined to be a long-term pillar of the team, potentially leading the next generation of Real Madrid stars.

With his performances and mentality, it seems only a matter of time before Bellingham takes on a more significant leadership role at the club. For now, he remains a key figure in Real Madrid’s pursuit of domestic and European glory.
