Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was full of praise for Luka Modric after his stunning performance in Los Blancos’ 2-0 victory over Girona.
The legendary midfielder, who continues to defy age with his brilliance, received glowing words from his coach in the post-match press conference.
“He’s a gift for football, he should continue as long as he wants. What he does, he does very well. We’ve been lucky to have a legend with us. Football has a gift in his seriousness, quality, and professionalism,” Ancelotti said, acknowledging Modric’s impact after his breathtaking goal set Madrid on course for victory.
The Italian tactician even drew a comparison between Modric and another footballing great he once coached—Paolo Maldini. “I had another 40-year-old player, Maldini. Both are fantastic examples of what a footballer should be. It’s not a coincidence they’ve made it to 40. Genetics matter, but so does commitment and attitude.”
At 38, Modric continues to prove that class is permanent. With his unwavering dedication and elite mentality, he remains a key figure in Madrid’s squad. As Ancelotti suggests, football itself is lucky to witness such a player, and as long as he wants to keep going, there’s no doubt he will continue to deliver moments of magic.
