Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has praised Kylian Mbappe, acknowledging that the French superstar needed time to adapt to life at the club.

However, the former forward insists that Mbappe’s success was always expected, given his immense quality and determination.

“Great players have to get used to new teammates, a different life. It was not only sporting issues but also non-sporting ones. I’m sure that Mbappe has received professional help,” Sanchez said, as quoted by SPORT.

Adjusting to a new league, a new set of teammates, and the weight of expectation that comes with playing for Real Madrid can be a challenge for any player—even for one of Mbappe’s calibre. Sanchez emphasised that the transition period is completely normal and that Mbappe is now proving why he is considered one of the best.

“He is one of the important symbols of Real Madrid. He is one of the best footballers in the world and he is showing it,” the Mexican legend stated.

Mbappe has been in sensational form, and Sanchez believes the forward is determined to keep pushing his limits and cement his legacy at the club.

“The legacy he leaves behind is very important, although with his form he is warning us that he wants to continue,” he added.
