Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has offered a strong endorsement of Eduardo Camavinga’s ability to play in defensive midfield, especially in the absence of Dani Ceballos.

Speaking to the media, Ancelotti highlighted Camavinga’s experience at the highest level, reminding everyone of his crucial role in Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph.

“People forget that Camavinga played in a Champions League final and he’s perfectly capable of playing in defensive midfield,” Ancelotti stated.

The Italian tactician further explained that Camavinga has already proven himself in a double pivot alongside Toni Kroos, making him a reliable option in midfield.

“Kroos and Camavinga played as a double pivot. He’s ready and has the quality to step in,” he added.

Ancelotti also emphasised the depth in midfield, noting that several other players can take on the role if needed.

“The same goes for Modrić, Valverde, and Tchouameni,” he said, reinforcing his confidence in the squad’s versatility.

Although the loss of Ceballos is a setback, Ancelotti remains confident in Real Madrid’s ability to adapt.

“It’s a shame because Ceballos was really contributing to the team. But we’ll replace him, as we always do,” the Madrid manager concluded.

With Camavinga’s ability to step up, Madridistas can be assured that Los Blancos remain well-equipped to navigate the challenges ahead.
