Real Madrid suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Real Betis, despite taking an early lead.

Carlo Ancelotti did not hold back in his post-match analysis, admitting that his side were second-best on the night.

“We deserved to lose, we played a very bad game,” the Italian coach told the media after the final whistle.

Real Madrid initially looked promising, pressing high and controlling the early stages, but their performance quickly deteriorated.

“If we play like this, we can’t win on Tuesday. Today the team wasn’t as compact as in the last few games,” Ancelotti admitted, expressing concerns about their upcoming fixture.

The Madrid boss was particularly critical of how the team lost its shape and intensity after a strong start.

“Our attack pressed their backline well in the opening 20 minutes, then it was very bad for the next 70 minutes,” he added.

This loss adds to a worrying trend for Los Blancos, who have now dropped 10 points in La Liga over the past month. With crucial fixtures ahead, Ancelotti will be demanding an immediate response from his players.
