Former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand has heaped praise on Real Madrid’s iconic Santiago Bernabéu stadium, describing it as the best in the world.
Speaking ahead of Los Blancos’ Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, the former defender expressed his deep admiration for the legendary venue.
“The Bernabéu is the best stadium in the world, without a doubt. When I came out for the first time, it took my breath away,” Ferdinand said.
Beyond its stunning architecture and electric atmosphere, the Bernabéu embodies Real Madrid’s unmatched legacy of success. The club’s rich history and winning mentality are evident in every corner of the stadium.
“When you get here, you smell it—you smell the success. The trophies. The best stadium in the world. I’d love to play here,” he added.
Real Madrid have been dominant at their fortress this season, winning four of their five Champions League matches at the Bernabéu. As they host Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie, Los Blancos will look to extend their strong European home form and take a step closer to another glorious campaign.
