Brahim Diaz delivered another decisive performance for Real Madrid, scoring in the 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

However, despite his impact, Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that the Spaniard is not guaranteed a starting spot in his squad.

Speaking about Brahim’s role, Ancelotti said: “You can’t say Brahim is an undisputed starter but he’s very important.”

The Italian coach also dismissed the idea that Diaz would automatically return to the bench in the next game, adding: “It’s not true that Brahim will be back on the bench next game, he’s a very important player and he will play when I put him on.”

Brahim has stepped up in Jude Bellingham’s absence, netting his second goal of the 2024/25 Champions League campaign. His influence has been steadily growing, with six goals and seven assists in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.

As Real Madrid push for silverware on multiple fronts, Diaz’s contributions could prove crucial, even if Ancelotti continues to rotate his attacking options.
