Rodrygo was the man of the match as Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Rodrygo put Real Madrid ahead before Brahim Diaz scored the winner during the Champions League cracker.

Rodrygo praised Federico Valverde for his assist in his post-match interview after winning the Man of the Match award.

He stated: “It was a beautiful goal with Fede, he understood my movements very well. I moved inside and hit the ball with my left foot. If I do it in training, I can then do it in matches.

“MVP? I don’t know how many awards I have at home, but it’s a very important individual award. It rewards you for the effort you put in during the game.

“Atletico are difficult to play against. They surprised us today, they kept the ball more than they normally do. It was a tough game.”
