Luka Modric has added another incredible milestone to his legendary Real Madrid career. The Croatian midfielder played his 132nd European Cup match for Los Blancos in their victory over Atletico Madrid, moving level with club icon Raul Gonzalez on the all-time appearance list for the competition.
This achievement places Modric third in Real Madrid’s history for most European Cup appearances, behind only Karim Benzema (133 games) and Iker Casillas (152 games). His record in the competition is outstanding, with 84 wins, 23 draws, and 25 defeats from his 132 matches.
Modric’s legacy in the tournament is cemented by his astonishing trophy haul. He is one of only five players in football history to win the European Cup six times, lifting the prestigious trophy in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2024.
His latest appearance also propelled him into the top 10 of the all-time European Cup appearances list, where he is now tied with Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs on 151 matches, securing ninth place in the tournament’s history.
At 38 years old, Modric continues to write new chapters in his legendary Real Madrid story, proving why he remains an integral figure in the club’s European dominance.
