Vinicius Jr could be unavailable for Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga fixture against Villarreal, according to Diario AS.
The Brazilian winger was substituted during Los Blancos’ dramatic Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid, which ended in a penalty shootout.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti later revealed that fatigue played a key role in Vinicius’ early exit.
“It was already decided Vini Jr would take it [penalty], and unfortunately, he missed,” Ancelotti explained when discussing the forward’s substitution.
“He wasn’t going to take one in the shootout, but he asked me to come off because he was very tired.”
Reports suggest that Vinicius is experiencing some discomfort, raising concerns over his availability for the clash with Villarreal this weekend. Real Madrid fans will be hoping for a quick recovery as the team continues its push for silverware this season.
