Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has shared his thoughts ahead of what promises to be a blockbuster Copa del Rey final against arch-rivals Barcelona.

Following both sides’ progression from the semi-finals, the stage is now set for another El Clásico – but this time, the stakes are higher with silverware on the line.

Speaking about the upcoming clash, Ancelotti kept things respectful and calm, showing the mutual admiration that exists between two of Spain’s greatest football institutions.

“I think we [and Barcelona] respect each other a lot. As for the final, we’ll talk about it in Seville,” Ancelotti said, hinting at the tactical chess match that awaits in the Andalusian capital.

The Italian tactician, known for his composed demeanour and wealth of experience, is clearly keeping his cards close to his chest for now. However, his calm words mask the intensity and passion that always surrounds a Real Madrid vs Barcelona showdown.

When asked about the La Liga title race, Ancelotti struck a more hopeful and determined tone.

“We need to be optimists. We can win everything that’s left,” he said, reaffirming Real Madrid’s ambition to challenge on all fronts.

Despite trailing Barcelona in the league table, Ancelotti’s men are still in the hunt for domestic and European glory. With the Copa del Rey final looming, the veteran manager will be hoping his side can bring their A-game and claim the prestigious trophy.

Madridistas, the countdown to another epic Clásico is on. Seville awaits.
