Real Madrid have turned down a €15 million bid from Manchester United for Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, according to reports from Defensa Central.

Despite recently signing a contract extension with the Spanish giants, Lunin’s future remains unresolved as speculation mounts over his role at the club.

Manchester United reportedly submitted the offer while assessing alternatives to Andre Onana, who is being linked with a possible move to AS Monaco. However, Real Madrid wasted no time in rejecting the Premier League club’s proposal, as they value Lunin between €20–25 million and continue to view him as a potential long-term asset.

Although Lunin extended his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu, there’s believed to be a verbal understanding between the player and the club to revisit his situation after the FIFA Club World Cup. With Thibaut Courtois back to full fitness and reclaiming the No.1 spot, Madrid are expected to make a key decision regarding their goalkeeping hierarchy once the tournament concludes.

Sources close to the club suggest that Lunin remains open to staying at Real Madrid—but only if he receives greater clarity about his role under new head coach Xabi Alonso.

The 26-year-old was crucial during Courtois’ lengthy injury absence and has proven his worth on the big stage.

Further discussions between Real Madrid and Lunin’s camp are expected once the Club World Cup wraps up, and fans can anticipate a clearer picture soon about whether the Ukrainian will stay and fight for his place or look for a move away.

For now, Real Madrid’s message is clear: Lunin is not available on the cheap.
