Luis Enrique has called Real Madrid the most successful club in the world.
As Paris Saint-Germain prepare to face Real Madrid in the Club World Cup semifinal, PSG boss Luis Enrique has stirred pre-match emotions by acknowledging his deep-rooted loyalty to FC Barcelona — while simultaneously giving Real Madrid the ultimate compliment.
The former Barcelona player and manager didn’t hold back when speaking ahead of today’s heavyweight showdown, saying: “Playing against Real Madrid is a pleasure. It always has been and always will be, because it means playing against the most successful team in the world.”
Despite still identifying as a “cule” — the term for devoted Barcelona supporters — Enrique was quick to give Madrid the recognition it deserves, highlighting the club’s unmatched legacy on the global stage.
“You know I’m a cule — I remain a Barca socio and supporter — so playing against Madrid is always motivating,” he added.
