Rio Ferdinand has called on Manchester United to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni before Liverpool go back for the Frenchman.

Tchouameni joined the Los Blancos last summer, but prior to the multi-million Euro transfer, he was linked with a switch to Anfield.

The 23-year-old struggled to nail a regular starting spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s side last season, especially after the World Cup, as he suffered a dip in form.

Spanish outlet, Nacional recently claimed that Liverpool are still keen on signing Tchouameni, and view his underwhelming debut season in the La Liga as an opportunity to do so, but Ferdinand believes he would be a good addition for his former side.

“In midfield, you know who I would go and get? I would go try to get Tchouameni,” the ex-England defender told his Vibe with Five podcast. “He is going to be the one who doesn’t play, he is the odd man out at the minute. (He would be a) massive improvement.”

Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t given up on Tchouameni who was a key figure in the first half of the season, and has vowed to give him another chance next season.
