Carlo Ancelotti was unhappy with his players’ ‘poor’ performance in the Champions League clash against RB Leipzig.
Real Madrid won 1-0 in Germany, and struggled to play a 1-1 draw with Leipzig in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The result at the Bernabeu ensured that the Los Blancos are through to the quarter-finals, but the performance was far from impressive.
Speaking after the game, Carlo Ancelotti bemoaned how poor his side were tactically.
The Real Madrid boss said: “We were bad [against RB Leipzig]. Very stiff, the block was too deep.
“With the ball, we were very slow, not vertical. It was a bad night. We have to say it.
“We wanted to press more and instead we defended too low. We had little verticality, it was a bad evening and it seems obvious to me.”
